Banka studios Maastricht

Installation company Lejeune, specialised for almost 60 years in electronic alarm systems, camera and fire alarm systems and emergency lighting, among others, realised the complete electrical installation at Banka Studios. The emergency lighting is now monitored remotely.

Bankastudios Maastricht, a workplace for creative and musical people from Maastricht and the surrounding area.

From 2022, a house in Maastricht will host a mix of artists from all genres. Music, film, TV, radio, and other forms of art will be combined in this unique building, complemented by cultural entrepreneurs. The old ROZ complex of Regional Broadcaster South is a wonderful example of 1970s heritage.

Today, Bankastudios complements the existing cultural offer and will actively support initiatives by guiding artists and cultural entrepreneurs to realise their plans. The artists have the ideas, Bankastudios provides the house and the opportunities to realise the ideas.

In 2020, the building was purchased by the BOEI Foundation, a national organisation dedicated to preserving and repurposing cultural heritage. The challenge was to preserve the authentic character and use modern technologies where possible. Partner Lejeune discussed possibilities and the choice of applying wireless management was easily made. Bankastudios is run by volunteers who want to focus on their core tasks. Wireless management supports this because it relieves them of any worries. The fixtures are connected to the Sqippa platform. Through the portal, Lejeune keeps track of the fixtures, how they function, whether there are malfunctions and what information becomes available.
